#85 - What Factors Affect Waking Up Early?
Hello Learners!
Hope everyone is doing well on this fine Friday Morning. It’s been an interesting week as everyone has transitioned from Spring Break to back into getting into routine. Next week is another holiday which is Easter!
Anyways, one question I had on my mind this week that I want to share is what factors affect waking up early in the morning the most? Better yet, what makes it so difficult to wake up in the morning? Is it?
-Caffeine consumption and/or food consumption the night before?
-Hydration and water the night before?
-What time somebody has fallen asleep? Does going to bed early = waking up early?
-Exercise or staying active?
-Technology use or blue light?
-The weather/climate/humidity?
-Or some other xyz factor?
I’ve been experimenting this week with trying to study in the morning, and have unfortunately been unsuccessful. My usually wake up time is right before work and so that’s enough motivation for me to get going. However, anything before that is pretty tough. Not only, but my routine isn’t very consistent. On the weekends, I see myself going to bed later and waking up later. This is due to family reasons as we want to sleep in and relax more. For sure though, it’s a series of interesting questions that really got me thinking about this problem.
At it’s core, (wait let me drink some Green Tea before typing more)....
At it’s core, I think the time that a person goes to bed will dictate whether a person will wake up easily or not. Except this is the exact time that a person finally falls asleep and goes to bed. Which is a lot different from what most people do which is: lay in bed, doomscroll for a couple hours, and then finally fall asleep super late. This is VERY different.
So what do I want to do tonight? I’m going to take the Japanese route and take a really hot bath and/or shower and then go to bed early tonight. No caffeine/food/technology later on this evening. And then see if that affects how easily I can wake up. It’s going to be interesting.
Happy Friday Everyone! -Calvin
